After more than a century of producing windows, Renewal by Andersen® has come up with a surefire, step-by-step guide to window replacement project. When we became Renewal by Andersen® of Westchester, we here at Vinylume did not have to change a single step of our own process. We believe that this is the way window replacement should be done.
Here is a look at the seven steps that go into a Renewal by Andersen® of Westchester window replacement project:
Pre-Installation: Custom Measurements
Prior to the start of the project, a representative from Renewal by Andersen® of Westchester will visit your home to take custom measurements. Each Renewal by Andersen® window and door is custom built to specific project specs.
Step One: Workshop on Wheels
On the day of installation our team of window experts will arrive at a precise, pre-determined time in a truck. That truck will be a fully equipped window workshop, with everything we need to perform the job, even our own power source.
Step Two: Protecting Your Home
Once inside your home, our team will work quickly to protect or move any of your possessions that are in the vicinity of the windows. They will then lay drop cloths around the area to protect you floors. As a final precaution, each member of the crew will wear protective booties to avoid tracking dirt into your home.
Step Three: Out with the Old
We begin deconstructing your existing windows, taking all necessary precautions to protect your drywall. We then haul away your old windows, either recycling them or donating them to certain causes.
Step Four: In With the New
We take your new windows from the truck and begin our installation. Our crew members are deeply experienced in the installation of replacement windows in Fairfield, Westchester and the surrounding areas, and will do so quickly and efficiently without any hiccups.
Step Five: Insulating Your New Windows
There will be a small gap between your new windows and the frame of your house. We fill this gap with a foam that has been specially designed for Fibrex™ windows and doors. This foam creates an airtight seal that will limit lost energy year ‘round.
Step Six: Finishing Touches
The foam plays an important role, but does not offer any sort of aesthetic appeal. To counteract this, we install precisely measures and custom colored trim. The combination of the foam and the trim creates a water and air tight seal against the elements.
Step Seven: Final Cleanup
Once we finish the trim, we will do a thorough cleaning of our work site, replacing anything we moved in the process. We will do a quick wash of the windows, remove the protective film, and leave you with brand new, beautiful replacement windows.
Both parts and labor in a Renewal by Andersen® window replacement project are covered by their industry-leading, Fully Transferable Limited Warranty.
